Fullday island excursion – history and pick seagull eggs

Exclusive six-hour trip to Ørja with collecting seagull eggs and history of the smal island out in Andfjorden

Join an exciting full day trip to the small island Ørja – located an hour’s boat ride from Hamn. The boat is a steady rib, and has space for 12 passengers. The trip is estimated to take 6 hours. We spend about four hours on land, where you join the old tradition to pick seagull eggs. You get home a couple seagull eggs. We explore Ørja and get with us the exciting story from the time Örja was a central location for fish. Close by Ørja is Holmenvær which also has an interesting history. There is a large seabird colony on Ørja and we will almost certainly see the sea eagle. We serve lunch and drinks during the stay at Ørja. Practical: We have approved flotation suits to everyone aboard. Bring warm clothes and good shoes. Remember camera. A daypack is advisable to carry.
