By air
There are direct flights several times a day from Oslo to Tromsø, Evenes, and also to Bardufoss Airport. Bardufoss Airport is the closest, with a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Hamn. Only Norwegian airline flies to Bardufoss. Tromsø Airport and Evenes Airport are about a 3-hour drive from Hamn. There are direct routes from Norway/Europe to Tromsø Airport.
By sea
The express boat departs from Tromsø city center / the express boat terminal at Prostneset several times a day, heading towards Finnsnes and Harstad. The trip takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to the town of Finnsnes, where we can pick you up.

From there, it’s about a 45-minute drive to Hamn through Senja’s beautiful landscape.
If you’re coming from Harstad, the boat trip takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
The famous Hurtigruten and Havila coastal cruises along the Norwegian coast between Bergen and Kirkenes stop daily in Finnsnes at 11 AM on the northbound route, and we can pick you up there by car or bus. It’s also a great idea to end your Senja visit with a lunch cruise to Tromsø.

By road or combined with ferry
You can reach Senja by car all year round via the Gisund Bridge at Finnsnes, or you can combine driving with a car ferry along the magnificent National Tourist Route between Tromsø and Senja, also available year-round.

If you're traveling in summer, you can also take advantage of the seasonal ferry between Senja (from Gryllefjord) and Andenes. Timetables HERE.
It’s important to arrive well in advance!
We offer a shuttle bus between Hamn and Gryllefjord the day before and on the day of departure, so you can get in line early without having to wait in Gryllefjord.

Summer route
A convenient route along the National Tourist Route between Tromsø, Senja, and Lofoten! You can enjoy daily day trips to Hamn in Senja for a delicious lunch, and also hop on and off along the entire stretch down to Svolvær in Lofoten.

Winter route
Every day from December 15th to March 31st, you can take the Arctic Route directly between Tromsø and Senja.
Departure at 3:30 PM from Prostneset in Tromsø city center. Book winter tickets HERE.
The bus stops in Finnsnes town center to distribute passengers to Mefjord Brygge, Hamn i Senja, Senja by Heart, Senja Fjord Hotel, and Norwegian Wild, as well as to pick up guests arriving with the afternoon express boat.
Winter Prices between all destinations on Senja, including Finnsnes and to Tromsø: NOK 750 per person one way.
Transport between Finnsnes and Senja: NOK 350. Children: 50% discount. Must be booked in advance!
