From late May to July, daylights continues through the night across Senja. As the sun circles above the horizon without setting, the mountains, coastline and Arctic landscapes remain bathed in a golden light throughout the night. Few places offer the chance to experience nature under these conditions, making the midnight sun one of the most remarkable parts of summer in Northern Norway.
Just outside Hamn, lies Bergsfjorden with white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters and mountains rising directly from the sea. The fjord offers a striking contrast between Arctic peaks and coastal scenery that resembles the Caribbean on a summer day. Kayaking, wildlife safaris and boat trips provide some of the best ways to experience Bergsfjorden and the surrounding coastline from the water.
